The Child and Youth Mental Health Service forms part of the Child and Youth Services Team, comprising Child and Youth Mental Health, Evolve Therapeutic Services, Assertive Youth Outreach Team, and Youth Alcohol and Other Drugs, and is located on the Rockhampton Hospital Campus.
As the Clinical Nurse, you will work closely with community partners including schools, child safety, non-government organisations, and other service providers in the care of young people experiencing mental health issues.

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service team (Rockhampton) provides comprehensive assessment, treatment, and psychotherapeutic intervention for children and adolescents up to 18 years of age with or with emerging severe and/or complex mental health conditions to the community of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Woorabinda, and Mount Morgan.
About the role:The Clinical Nurse delivers high-quality evidence-based clinical services in the therapeutic treatment of children and young people (and their family or carer networks) experiencing mental health issues and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. This includes crisis intervention, case management, therapeutic counselling, and physical health interventions, for example, physical health screening, observations and interventions, and medication management.
About you:Mandatory qualifications / requirements: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practicing certificate.
Credentialed status with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN) is highly desirable. Willingness to undertake and complete the requirements for certification as Credentialed Mental Health Nurse.Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: Whilst not mandatory, a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in Mental Health Nursing would be well regarded for a position at this level.
Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable.What we offer:Salary information: Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 p.a. is comprised of:
