An opportunity is on offer within the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Team, part of the Mental Health Service Group in the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. The team provides a mental health service to all treatment areas of the Townsville Hospital. The team consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Registrar, Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurses. An opportunity is on offer within the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Team, part of the Mental Health Service Group in the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. The team provides a mental health service to all treatment areas of the Townsville Hospital. The team consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Registrar, Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurses.Apply now to join the team on a permanent full-time basis, as a Clinical Nurse. The aims of the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and Addictions Service are to provide a rapid consultative service (assessments and interventions) to inpatients that may have mental health problems and to aid patients who do not suffer major mental health problems but whose acute and chronic conditions affect their emotional equilibrium and sense of well-being. The Consultation and Liaison role extends to individual discussions about patients, patient education, and staff teaching sessions to disseminate the basics of diagnosis and treatment, interaction with other disciplines, outpatient follow-up, and referring on to the community. 
All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the Service. What Townsville Hospital and Health Service has to offer: Generous remuneration package value up to $132,289 p.a. comprising:Salary range of $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)Annual leave with relevant loading12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.Other employment benefits may include: professional development, salary sacrificing options , shift and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts. Candidate Requirements: Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.Possession of relevant post- registration and/or tertiary qualification in mental health nursing would be well regarded for a position at this level. While not mandatory credentialed status with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses would be well regarded.Appointment or have the ability to readily obtain appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly regarded.Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services (MHSG) to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements is a requirement of all staff within the MHSG.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.Possession of class C drivers' licence.Probation period may apply.Pre-employment checks will be conducted.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.
