The Theatre Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Acute Pain Clinical Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your opportunity
The Acute Pain Clinical Nurse (CN) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The activities are predominantly clinical in nature, but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities. The CN provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff.
About the Team
The Acute Pain Service (APS) aims to assist in the treatment of all types of acute pain. Their services include daily reviews of postoperative patients requiring sophisticated analgesic modalities, establishment of epidurals for labour pain and follow-up of obstetric patients who required neuraxial analgesia.
