What is our Clinical Neuropsychologist role? Within a multidisciplinary and professional team context this position performs clinical, consultant, educational and research neuropsychological services for adults with neurological conditions. This position may also provide supervision to Clinical Neuropsychology registrars/trainees as needed.
The State Head Injury Unit (SHIU) aims to promote and assist the rehabilitation and community reintegration of people in Western Australia affected by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
The SHIU provides a state-wide, comprehensive, specialist case coordination and community based therapy service to individuals between the ages of 16 and 65 who have an ABI. Individuals seen typically sustain an ABI from trauma, stroke, tumour, hypoxia, severe concussion, infection etc.

Public health addresses the health of whole populations, rather than the individual. The primary focus is on prevention of disease or promotion of good health, rather than clinical services.
Public health as a field also focuses on system-level design of services, policies and programs affecting the health and well-being of the population.
The typical domains of public health include communicable disease control, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health promotion, health equity for disadvantaged populations and health policy.
The NMHS Public Health Service includes a number of programs, many which predominantly perform public health functions, and other programs that perform clinical or clinical support roles. Some of the programs serve the population of NMHS, while others work beyond the bounds of NMHS to support populations across the Perth Metropolitan area or the entire state.
