The Role:Leading the strategic and operational development and implementation of policies and procedures that maximise patient access and flow through Maternity Services.Providing day to day leadership, management and advice to staff and women regarding the discharge process from North West Maternity Services and the coordination of care.In collaboration with Outpatient and Inpatient Maternity Services, develop effective partnerships to undertake projects related to the continuum of care to achieve best practice in Patient Flow Management.Provide clinical midwifery leadership in contemporary midwifery and women's health practices including advanced midwifery care within scope of practice and other relevant legislation.In partnership with the Maternity Services multi-disciplinary team, provide a midwife consultancy and coordination service to facilitate the care of women and their newborns.Lead innovation and research within Maternity Services to improve clinical outcomes and develop and implement clinical policy and guidelines for the service areas.Identify improvements in the care coordination and service accessibility within the Maternity Services area and lead the development and implementation of systems changes and service improvements to support care coordination in consultation with key stakeholders.As an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, provide authoritative clinical expertise and support in the provision of clinical advice and interventions as well as coordinating services to women across the continuum of maternity care.Details of Appointment Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join the team.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.Salary: $114,851 - $121,886 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification typeMinimum Requirements: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Midwife or Registered Nurse/MidwifeCurrent Working with Children Registration.*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.
