2 days ago, from Western Australia GovernmentThis is for a Permanent or Fixed Term appointment at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Midwife to join the Maternity team at Geraldton Health Campus – Midwest.To be successful, you will have:Be eligible for registration in the category of Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.Demonstrated advanced nursing practice within the relevant practice setting.Demonstrated advanced skills in planning, coordination and decision making, within the relevant practice setting.Demonstrated well-developed team leadership and membership skills.Demonstrated well-developed communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.Demonstrates incorporation of quality and risk management within practice.Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence.Position Profile:Maintain national competence for Registered Nurses / Midwife to practice in accordance with the Nurses & Midwives Board of WA.Maintain advanced skills and competence in the provision of patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of delivery of care, within the practice setting.Performs the role of clinical expert for the unit / hospital providing professional advice and assistance in relation to clinical standards and practice, in conjunction with the nursing manager.Coordinates the operational management of the unit, on a shift-by-shift basis as required.Assists the nursing manager with forward resource planning and implementation of management strategies, particularly monitoring industrial workload indicators.Performs a leadership role in multi-disciplinary services to ensure a high standard of health care delivery.Assists the nursing manager with monitoring of nursing practice and implementation of strategies to manage.Actively participate in improvement and research programs in conjunction with others to improve the unit or hospital health care service.Performs a nursing leadership role in unit based decision-making and assists the nursing manager to monitor the achievements of unit / hospital.Identifies patient education needs and implements appropriate teaching, including coordination of patient education programs.What we offer:In addition to the great salary our employees enjoy an amazing range of benefits:Location based allowances.Relocation allowance (For further information refer to "Relocation incentive" attachments).Paid study leave assistance – regional specific as per EBA.Up to $9010 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, your rent or other everyday living expenses.Up to $2650 on meal entertainment, holiday accommodation and venue hire.Access to novated leasing to use pre-tax dollars for a car and expenses.Flexible working and leave arrangements.Professional Development opportunities.WACHS supports flexible working practices and consideration will be given to flexible work/roster options, where operationally appropriate.As a WA Country Health Service employee you're entitled to discounts across some private health care funds.
