About the Maternity Services
The division of Maternity Services provides antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for over 7,400 birthing people annually. As one of Australia's busiest tertiary perinatal centres, the Women's can care for the full spectrum of risk in pregnancy, from straightforward gestations to those with complex maternal and foetal conditions. Also, as a major training institution for all disciplines related to maternity care, research is a major focus of Maternity Services, in both the medical and midwifery domains.
About the role
The Clinical Midwife Consultant is an expert midwife with advanced theoretical and clinical skills who provides clinical resource, clinical advisory/development and undertakes related projects and development activities to meet specified clinical midwifery needs across the continuum of care in Maternity Services. In this role you will deliver evidence-based midwifery care that meets professional, organisational, legal and ethical standards to optimise health outcomes for birthing parents and babies.
The Clinical Midwifery position is a clinical leadership role that:

Promotes, participates and initiates clinical audits and research projectsEvaluates current research and co-ordinates key stakeholders to implement change processes that reflect research findingsWorks collaboratively with multidisciplinary teamsContributes to strategic planning, team performance, professional development, and service improvement activitiesConsults on a multi-health service or statewide basisAbout you
You will be someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who has the ability to build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You'll possess a leadership style that is collaborative, positive and engaging, with a commitment to providing excellence in patient care.

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered MidwifeRecent clinical management/leadership experienceDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated ability to organise self and others to achieve goals and objectives, and the ability to manage and support others to succeed in their rolesOur benefits
