The new services in Devonport, Burnie and Outer Hobart are co-funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments, to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.The service is tailored to the needs of the community in Tasmania and provides a combination of peer-integrated recovery and clinical support.The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress, allowing them to:Identify alternatives to presenting to the Emergency DepartmentAccess support from trained mental health professionals within their community, outside a clinical settingOn Offer:Based in BurnieExcellent base salary plus superSalary packaging options (up to $15,899 tax free) and meals/entertainment packaging of up to $2,650Leave loading at 17.5%Work/life balance, supporting time with family and friendsLeave purchase options availableOne paid wellbeing leave day per yearPaid parental leave supportStride Rewards – access to discounts from 100s of retailers (fashion, food and fitness)Supportive team environmentRole overview:The Clinical Manager role has responsibility for the provision of clinical leadership and management to the site-based team members (excluding the Community Engagement, Medical Receptionist and Peer Worker staff).The focus of this role is on the day-to-day delivery of excellence in quality care provision, ensuring all clinical governance and compliance targets are implemented and met, as well as working with the Clinical Services Manager and Operations Manager for Tasmania to support innovation and quality improvement for the region to ensure evidence-based outcomes for people accessing the service.Requirements:Must have one of the following: mental health-related degree as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, OR a Mental Health Social Worker, with eligibility for related registration.Experience leading a multidisciplinary team or extensive experience as a Senior Clinician providing clinical support to a team, including the ability to lead the coordination of care for people with complex needs. This includes consultation and engagement with a wide range of professionals.Knowledge & understanding of the theory underpinning evidence-based interventions & clinical practice as well as demonstrated excellence in the practical application of such, in the areas of mental health and alcohol and drug use.Highly developed communication skills and the ability to engage with consumers, advocate on their behalf and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, families & friends and stakeholders.Demonstrated experience in managing clinical governance, supervision and mentoring of staff, process development and monitoring, data capture and reporting to meet key contractual benchmarks.Experience in the use of electronic client/customer management systems, and experience with workforce management systems and Microsoft Office applications.Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC and NDIS worker screening.Stride is an inclusive workplace and we encourage applications from diverse backgrounds.
