Remuneration: $103,213.24 - $116,378.00 per annum + superannuation + salary sacrifice
Commencement Date: March 2025
This position is fixed term/fulltime to cover a period of leave from March 2025 to 31st December 2025. Position OverviewThe Clinical Lead - Newman reports to the Director of Clinical Services and is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This position is responsible for the provision of culturally competent clinical leadership and supervision to the clinicians at Newman Clinic, including planning and supervision of daily duties and in liaison with the Practice Manager – Newman, effective coordination and delivery of primary health care service to community members of Newman.
Minimum RequirementsTo be considered you will meet the following criteria:
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Nurse Practitioner or Aboriginal Health Practitioner.Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA's) Code of Conduct of Registered Nurses and Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses OR demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board Code of Conduct and Professional Capabilities standards.At least four (4) years post graduate experience in nursing or as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, demonstrating a sound professional background in primary health care service delivery, management and coordination.Previous experience leading a multi-disciplinary team in a primary health care setting including conflict management.Highly developed written skills and demonstrated organisational and time management skills plus an ability to adapt to changing needs.A clear respect for Aboriginal culture, willingness to listen and learn, a commitment to participate in inter-cultural awareness activities as directed by PAMS and a demonstrated ability to practice in a culturally safe and appropriate manner.Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal health, drivers of health inequality, and principles of primary health care and relevant legislation governing work practice in Western Australia.Current First Aid and Certificate.You will also ideally:
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be acknowledged as such by your community.Further qualifications in the areas of primary health care, health administration and leadership chronic disease, mental health, child health, diabetes education, wound care, midwifery or other relevant area.Knowledge of Medicare and its application to the Aboriginal primary health care setting.Previous high level experience in the use of Communicare including having undertaken Communicare Administrator training.About the BenefitsWhile you will face diverse new challenges in the role, you will also enjoy an attractive remuneration package including a base salary of $103,213.24 - $116,378.00 per annum plus superannuation. Accommodation support (specific criteria to be met)Support to further invest in your careerEmployee Assistance ProgramAbout the OrganisationWith an administrative hub based in Newman, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, The Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) provides holistic primary health care to the individuals and families within Newman and the remote communities of Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu and Kunawarritji.
PAMS has over 700 registered clients, with most being Martu. Services offered include health education and promotion programs and initiatives, as well as the monitoring and management of ongoing health issues such as diabetes, hypertension, ante-natal & post-natal care and child health.
