headspace Camperdown in The Brain and Mind Centre at the University of Sydney is a world-leading research facility dedicated to understanding and improving brain function and mental health. Through cutting-edge research and innovative approaches, the centre aims to transform Australian and International mental health care and policy, benefiting individuals and communities.
The dynamic headspace team is now seeking a passionate
Clinical Lead
to oversee and support clinical staff, managing mental health services for young people aged 12-25. You will provide leadership, supervision, and guidance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based interventions to improve the mental health and well-being of headspace young people.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Be To:
Work closely with the Clinical Services Director, headspace management team, Youth Access Clinicians, and Brief Intervention staff.
Lead and supervise the clinical team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health services.
Manage clinical pathways, assessments, and care coordination for young people with complex needs.
Oversee the intake, assessment, and intervention aspects of care to ensure timely, high-quality, and evidence-based care.
Support and monitor staff performance, development, and retention in collaboration with the management team.
Oversee clinical record keeping and ensure adherence to privacy and data management protocols.
Work within the centre management team developing policy and procedure and contributing to the strategic decision-making of headspace Camperdown.
There is flexibility for this role to be either a full-time or part-time 0.8FTE position (salary will be pro-rata for part-time hours).
About You
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced clinician eager to make an impact in youth mental health and passionate about supporting young people to navigate mental health challenges.
Tertiary qualifications in clinical psychology, social work, counselling, and/or mental health nursing with relevant working experience.
Registration with the governing association that aligns with your tertiary qualifications.
Post-graduate experience in youth mental health services, including clinical leadership and management.
Proven experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment with expertise in case management.
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff in clinical assessments, risk management, and care planning for clients with complex needs.
A commitment to supporting a diverse client base, including Indigenous, CALD, and LGBTIQA+ youth.
The ability to travel for work purposes when required.
