Job Description Reporting into the Director of Clinical & Maternity Services and working closely with the Freemasons Executive and senior leadership teams, the Clinical Governance Manager is responsible for monitoring the risk profile of the hospital, driving, and ensuring preparation for accreditation(s) and compliance with the National Standards. This leadership role also oversees patient feedback and experience data to guide and inform ongoing improvement and excellence in patient care. Indicative activities include:
Regular reporting on incidents and associated trends Timely coordination of critical incident assessments and incident review processes Initiation of improvement actions and evaluation of interventions in areas requiring focused activity Liaison with relevant external bodies e.g. Safer Care Victoria, the Coroner's Office, the Health Care Commission, regarding safety and quality matters Leading and managing incident review processes with the accountable operational leaders and appropriate staff You will make an impact by:
Providing strong and visible leadership and technical expertise in quality, patient safety and risk management Working collaboratively with a range of clinicians, staff and executive teams to drive innovation, quality improvement and best practice initiatives. Facilitating and coordinating multi-disciplinary management of clinical incidents, investigation, and analysis You are an experienced and accomplished leader in quality and clinical governance, with strong interpersonal skills that enable you to influence, build relationships, and earn the trust and respect of your team, colleagues, and the clinical workforce. You are passionate about providing the highest standard person-centred care and have a proven track record achieving excellence in clinical governance, patient safety and accreditation processes.
You will have:
Unrestricted and current nursing AHPRA registration Leadership experience with an engaging and inclusive style Experience working in the clinical risk management and/or quality program of a large health service Strong organisational and systems thinking skills with attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, meet deadlines and effectively manage change Demonstrated experience in clinical safety systems, root cause analysis and case review investigation Expertise in relation to the National Safety and Quality Health Care Standards, contemporary clinical risk management along with a working knowledge of current and emerging patient safety issues nationally Highly developed investigation, analytical and numeric skills, with strong attention to detail Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislative requirements and reporting responsibilities to external governing bodies Additional Information At Epworth, it's a community.
