Clinical Educator - Emergency DepartmentPermanent Part-time (64 hours per fortnight)Educator Non-major Year 1 & 2 and subsequent (YW4 – YZ8)An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning and Development Unit at West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Clinical Nurse Educator in the Emergency Department. This is a Permanent part-time position.Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, you will work within a motivated and dedicated team that provides support to the organisation over a wide range of education and development services, including but not limited to, in-service education, development and delivery of training programs, competency assessments, supervision of student placements and staff development education.We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated, experienced and enthusiastic people with a passion for learning and development to work collaboratively in providing high-quality learning opportunities, using a range of modalities that support and enable participants to practice as safe, confident and accountable professionals.This stimulating role would suit an experienced nurse who has clinical expertise in the area of Emergency and Trauma and is flexible, solutions-focused, committed to quality, willing to accept a challenge and enjoys working within a team that is dedicated to providing great service to their client group.Our preferred candidate will have:Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Board of AustraliaExtensive post-registration clinical experience in the area of Emergency, no less than 5 years post-registrationPostgraduate qualifications in Emergency services.Current accredited Advanced Life Support certification.Demonstrated experience in clinical education, training/development and preceptoringEvidence of ongoing professional development in education/clinical educationCertificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or relevant tertiary qualification in educationThe following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and ExcelIMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.About our organisationThe West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer-focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond.
