Clinical Director of Medicine – Consultant position (Permanent – Part-Time) Bass Coast Health (BCH) seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced Medical Consultant, ideally dual trained in general medicine and another speciality including but not limited to Endocrinology, Rheumatology or Neurology. The successful applicant will work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of staff, including a mixed workforce of General Practitioners and General Physicians. The Clinical Director will be responsible for the professional and clinical leadership and development of acute medical service, Hospital in the Home and Medical day infusion service. This is a very exciting time to be joining the acute medical service following the recent provisional accreditation of Basic Physician Trainees as a seconded site from Monash Health. The Clinical Director will also fufil the role of the Directot of Physcian Training. The role is 0.4 EFT (two days per week) or above (negotiable), including a mix of clinical and non-clinical duties and additional weekly outpatient clinic service in the relevant specialty. The Clinical Director may also for part of the base medical ward consultatn roster. Applicants will have demonstrated clinical leadership experience within a public health service, with experience in a rural and/or regional health service advantageous. Applicants should have a strong interest in supporting and growing the medical services department and be able to grow the medical team as BCH expands. This position will work closely with the BCH Executive and provide: high-quality, person-centred care leadership and clinical governance oversight clinical medical services The successful applicant will have: Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as a Specialist Medical Practitioner Post-graduate medical qualifications and a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Demonstrated high level consultative and collaborative leadership skills Sound understanding of clinical risk management, maintenance of clinical standards and application of clinical governance processes The Bass Coast is a vibrant and growing community situated 120kms south east of Melbourne and is close to beautiful beaches, tourist attractions and offers various leisure and lifestyle opportunities.
