The primary purpose of the Clinical Coordinator – Violence, Abuse and Neglect is to provide advanced clinical nurse leadership and consultancy, research, education and service planning for the IS LHD Medical and Forensic Service responses to violence, abuse and neglect (VAN), including Sexual Assault Service.
The CNC 3 Clinical Coordinator will provide leadership and operational management for a small team of medical and nursing staff.
The Clinical Coordinator – VAN will be qualified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and will have expertise in providing high quality, integrated medical and forensic responses to sexual assault as part of VAN Service models of care outlined in the Integrated Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect Framework and other relevant NSW Health policy directives (e.g.
Responding to Sexual Assault (adult and child) Policy and Procedures).
The Clinical Coordinator will lead a new team, and assist with the development of a new integrated model of care as the team provides broader responses to Violence, Abuse and Neglect.
The position will provide nursing leadership in the development and implementation of integrated medical and forensic care for other cohorts, in line with Violence, Abuse and Neglect system reforms.
This includes service provision for victims-survivors of domestic family violence; and responses to victims of all ages who have experienced sexual assault and other forms of physical abuse and neglect.
Essential Requirements: Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse, with 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.Working With Children Check (WWCC)Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.ISLHD is an equal opportunity employer.
