About the Role:The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking Clinical Coding Auditor Educators/ Clinical Documentation Specialists to join the Coding Service. The Clinical Coding Auditor / Educator is responsible for providing audit of clinical documentation, ICD code assignment and application of coding standards. You will share learnings from audits, training and education for coding staff to ensure an accurate and comprehensive casemix profile and optimisation of Casemix revenue.
As a Clinical Coding Auditor / Educator, you will provide clinicians and other relevant hospital staff with education on documentation and Casemix systems. You will conduct a regular cycle of random and targeted audits to ensure the quality and integrity of administrative data collected, resulting in accurate coding and optimisation of Casemix revenue.
The Clinical Documentation Specialist facilitates clinical documentation improvement support for clinicians across NALHN. Participation in ward rounds, Grand Rounds, Divisional and other meeting forums will be part of the educational component of this role. You will lead the creation and promulgation of documenting considerations in the patient medical record, enhancing the safety and quality of care.
To be eligible for this position, you must have satisfactory completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) coding Course, together with demonstrated competency in ICD-10-AM coding.
