The Role
As part of the Coding Team, your role is to take ownership for accurate and timely clinical coding across various procedures using ICD10AM. You will abstract and verify relevant information in the health records, assign accurate codes, and perform DRG grouping according to relevant standards and guidelines. Additionally, you will liaise with stakeholders to clarify documentation in the health record and work closely with team members to support this function, participate in ongoing education and training, and support audit reviews. Salary is competitive and includes salary packaging options, circa $120k pkg depending on experience.
About You
You are credentialed in Health Information Management and bring relevant qualifications from HIMAA. A minimum of three years of experience in Australia with coding within a public or private hospital setting is required. Your experience includes complex surgical procedures, working on both short and long-term stays. You have a strong focus on the accuracy and speed of providing outcomes with your own records while also having the interest to support your team. You are a problem solver with strong time management, excellent communication skills, and a strong interest in building a career in this area of work.
