This is a great opportunity for an Australian based experienced Clinical Coder. This role provides real work/life balance with the ability to work from home anywhere in Australia and work your own hours.
The Clinical Coder is primarily responsible for providing timely and accurate coding services to clients, including the coding of diagnosis and procedures of hospital episodes in line with the International Classification of Diseases and Australian Classification of Health Interventions.
This position requires the incumbent to work independently and via remote access, using various forms of medical records including paper, scanned and electronic medical records. Some onsite work may be involved, particularly for audits.
What You'll Bring: Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent is essentialCompletion of an Australian recognised clinical coding courseExperience - Minimum 3 years coding experienceUp to date current knowledge of the Australian Coding Standards and Independent Hospital Pricing Authority rulesAbility to work independently with high accuracyProven effective communication skills, both verbal and writtenConfident public speaking skillsComprehensive knowledge of clinical coding, including ICD-10-AD 12th EditionProven track record of record optimisation across public or private hospitalsFamiliar with national, state and territory coding guidelines in AustraliaCompetent in learning/using patient administration systems and medical record formats e.g. paper, hybrid, scanned, electronicOur Ideal Candidate: A highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Coder who can thrive in a virtual, but collaborative environment.
