About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Clinical Coder to join our Health Information Services team on a part-time basis.Your excellent time management and organisational skills, along with considerable clinical coding experience will ensure your success in this position.As Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for abstracting and assigning accurate diagnostic and procedure codes for all inpatient episodes. Responsibilities will include:Timely and accurate clinical codingParticipate in case mix analysis, education and quality activitiesClinical documentation improvement initiativesParticipate in audits as necessaryAbout usJohn Fawkner Private Hospital is a fully accredited 186-bed acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, cancer and critical care services. Emergency Department and Critical Care unit in northwestern Melbourne, John Fawkner Private works with highly skilled visiting specialists who offer subspecialty expertise.John Fawkner Private Hospital has a long-established tradition for providing quality healthcare to our local community, the veteran community, and patients travelling from regional northwest Victoria.Minimum Requirements:HIMAA Certification in Clinical Coding or other recognised Clinical Coding course with experience in ICD-10-AM and ACHI according to ACS and National and State clinical coding advice and Queensland Health guidelines to meet data reporting requirementsAt least 1+ years clinical coding experience within a hospital settingSound understanding of Codefinder and TurbocoderStrong organisational skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloadsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work within a team environmentSound Knowledge of private sector funding modelsDemonstrated understanding in WebPAS patient information systemWhy Healthscope?When you join Healthscope, you become part of our Community of Care.
