$124,011 to $132,429 p.a. as per Danila Dilba Enterprise Agreement 2022 - 2026 Location: Malak Clinic - 3/1 Malak Pl, Malak NT 0812Status: PermanentType: Full timeClassification: Registered Nurse (RN) – AHP (Admin) / RN 5.1-5.2, Admin 8.1-8.4Salary Range: $127,093-132,429 (RN 5.1-5.2)/ $124,011-$132,123 (Admin 8.1-8.4) p.a. as per Danila Dilba Enterprise Agreement 2022 - 2026WHO ARE WE?Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Services (DDHS) is a not-for-profit, Aboriginal community-controlled organisation that is committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) region in the Northern Territory.We are focused on acute care, immunisation, chronic disease management, women's health, men's health, child and maternal health and sexual health.This position is responsible for coordinating the delivery of quality, culturally sensitive, comprehensive primary health care clinical service programs at the Malak Health Clinic aimed at improving the health status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents of the greater Darwin region.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic InputContribute to the development and implementation of the DDHS strategic plan and strategies for the Clinic to ensure the delivery of an integrated and culturally appropriate suite of relevant clinical programs that meet the needs of community members.Assist in the identification and implementation of innovations to improve effectiveness and efficiency of clinical service delivery.Effectively lead and manage organisational change, people, and budget management.Clinical Care & OperationsSupervise operational and clinical services, staff and intervene when required to ensure appropriate rostering of staff, client workflow management, compliance with agreed service levels and national health accreditation standards so performance targets are met and exceeded wherever possible.Assist GPs and other clinical staff as required including visiting health professionals and specialists.Coordinate external clinical requests as required for clients not eligible for Care Coordination services.Ensure data, reporting and compliance obligations for services are met.Implement relevant policies and procedures to ensure clinical and legal compliance.Manage budget / expenditure within delegation.Monitor and ensure maintenance of clinical stock and clinical equipment including cold chain management.PerformanceComplete and participate in regular formal and informal performance feedback and improvement sessions.Demonstrate responsibility for own development through participation in all learning opportunities.Actively model DDHS Code of Conduct Policy and demonstrate appropriate and professional workplace behaviours, help team members as required and undertake other key responsibilities or activities as reasonably directed.Provide quality leadership to and management of team members dealing (recruitment, performance management and development).Communication and TeamworkEffectively communicate with a multidisciplinary team including clients and external service providers to ensure external stakeholder services to clients.Maintain a positive work environment along with harmonious and cooperative relationships with all employees and clients.Develop and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.Represent DDHS in a variety of settings ensuring the organisation's brand is protected and enhanced.Maintain professional work ethics and participate in staff meetings.Safe Practice and EnvironmentConduct all activities in a manner consistent with national health accreditation standards, DDHS Occupational Work, Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.Proactively address Work Health and Safety hazards, incidents, and injuries.Comply with established DDHS clinical standards, policies and protocols including (but not limited to); cold chain management; infection control; and DDHS Medicines Guidelines.QualityIdentify and make recommendations on opportunities to improve processes, quality, and service delivery outcomes.Participate in the development of quality procedures and contribute to internal and external program reviews as required.Implement/follow the DDHS incident and complaint investigation policies.Comply with DDHS Privacy and Confidentiality of Health Information Policy.Ensure all documentation, records management and the health information system database are maintained and completed in accordance with established standards, policies, and protocols to ensure continuity of care.Organisational ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain awareness and understanding of the DDHS strategic plan.Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, standards and practices e.g., Information and records management, confidentiality.Act only in ways that advance DDHS objectives, values and reputation and with honesty, integrity and good faith.Other duties as required, consistent with skills and experience, as directed by the Supervisor.SELECTION CRITERIARegistration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Proven clinical competence in a clinical practice environment.Demonstrated leadership, people management skills and organisational abilities including project management to understand and manage budget and people matters relevant to the operation of the clinic.Proven communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to work constructively with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds and multi-disciplinary teams.Proven cross-cultural competence relevant to the DDHS environment.Knowledge of Aboriginal health issues and understanding of Aboriginal history, culture and aspirations and the role of community-controlled health organisations.Proven abilities in clinical records management and the preparation of quality documentation including reports, letters, policies and procedures.Relevant post-graduate qualifications in community services, health, social science, project management or other relevant areas.
