About the role Timely assessment and dietetic consultation of patients in conjunction with medical, nursing and allied health  Completes Dietetic assessments and implements appropriate interventions and clinical documentation Ensure co-morbidities such as malnutrition are documented when required to assist with coding Timely follow- up nutritional assessment, nutrition care plans and appropriate SGA as per policy Education and counselling of patients on therapeutic diets with follow through of discharge arrangements as appropriate Daily maintenance of activity statistics on electronic record system or written medical records. Communication /collaborates or instruction to nutrition assistants, diet chef or diet aides regarding patient needs when required Group education sessions conducted when required with the Food Services or Nursing teams Ensure patients are reviewed and checked as appropriate on their progress regarding dietary plans Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times Completes any other duties as directed by Senior Team Leader or Director of Clinical Services About the facility Please note roles will be based at both our facilities in St Vincent's private hospital, Darlinghurst and at The Mater Hospital North Sydney. State-of-the art hospitals Surrounded by great cafes, galleries and theatres, parks, nightlife, and nearby glorious beaches Closely partnered with universities and affiliated research institutes, many which are located on-campus Groundbreaking technologies, including world-first robotic-assisted surgeries Highly specialized services in orthopaedics, heart and lung surgery, head and neck surgery, neurosurgery, urology, vascular surgery, upper GI/hepatobiliary surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, colorectal surgery, gynaecology, neurology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, cancer services, maternity (Mater) and mental health etc. About you Post graduate qualifications or Bachelor Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics that allows eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Australia.Knowledge in a broad range of clinical areas.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, communication and problem solving skills . Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.A positive work ethic. For this role you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have an Australia visa that grants you the work rights necessary for the role.
