Expression of InterestWith the impending obligations coming in the form of mandatory climate reporting, we are experiencing an increase in requests for contract support from our blue-chip client base. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from candidates interested in contracting or fixed-term opportunities to support our clients through developing ESG strategies and helping them address the risks and opportunities arising from climate change and sustainability issues.Role Purpose:Supporting organisations with subject matter expertise across the full spectrum of sustainability and climate change issues, including environmental, social and governance ("ESG") strategy, outcomes measurement, climate risk and decarbonisation, social impact assessment, human rights, modern slavery and community engagement. These project-based engagements will develop or improve and implement sustainability strategies, policies and practices; prepare effective sustainability reports and/or integrate ESG information into other public disclosures; and provide assurance over non-financial reports and metrics.Accountabilities may include:Assisting organisations on how they manage and report on a broad range of sustainability and climate-related risks and impacts.Project managing the assurance of non-financial reporting, including sustainability metrics, emissions and energy disclosures across a range of industry sectors.Contributing to strategy, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks and tools to help clients succeed and navigate complex regulatory environments and manage stakeholder expectations.Assisting clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies, develop targets, and implement plans to enhance sustainability value for a broad range of sustainability topics, including diversity, waste, modern slavery and environmental impacts.Analysing effects of organisations on climate change including impacts on nature, water and air quality within the communities in which they operate. This includes ensuring high integrity of environmental data as well as understanding climate risks and opportunities, in order to formulate short- and long-term risk management objectives.Desired Experience/Skills:5+ years of professional services/consulting experience.Experience in assurance (financial or non-financial) or reporting.Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice as well as a good understanding of climate-related issues.Practical experience with energy and emissions reporting schemes including National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting (NGER) scheme, the Safeguard Mechanism and the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF).Climate risk assessment and disclosure experience, including knowledge of the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework.Knowledge of key assurance standards including General Audit and Assurance Procedures (GAAP), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and the associated draft Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS).Knowledge of and experience in decarbonisation approaches, climate risk and climate strategy.Knowledge and practical experience of the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) (Commonwealth Act) and modern slavery statements.How to Apply:Apply now by submitting your current CV (in Word format) via our online application process.
