Job DescriptionPermanent/Continuing, full-time appointment.Level 8/9: $115,890 - $143,786 + 17% SuperannuationThe Infrastructure and Property Division (IPD) supports the University of Wollongong (UOW) by building a strong and enduring campus identity, and is responsible for campus planning, environmental sustainability, transport, parking, maintenance, landscape and campus security.
The Environment Unit within IPD is tasked with the crucial role of managing UOW's environmental strategy and risks through the development and implementation of policy, procedures, systems and services. The unit consists of a team of environmental and sustainability professionals who seek to continuously improve environmental management practices and minimise the environmental impacts of UOW's operations.
We are seeking a Climate Change Risk and Resilience Manager with experience in delivering climate strategy and climate risk management outcomes. An initial focus will be on the development and delivery of climate scenarios in alignment to UOW's 2025 Climate-related Disclosures.
The Climate Change Risk and Resilience Manager will lead the ongoing development, implementation, risk management and administration of climate strategy and climate risk management in UOW's operations. The role is responsible for reporting UOW's climate related risks and opportunities for Australian and offshore campuses and to contribute to ESG reporting including UOW's Climate-related Financial Disclosure requirements.
The role will identify, develop and deliver climate change strategies that address risk, resilience and adaptation activities. The role coordinates stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organisation to set, review, refine and execute UOW's approach to climate risk and resilience and will utilise hands-on experience in the collection, management and analysis of data related to environmental risks, opportunities and natural hazards in order to formulate short- and long-term management objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and experience working effectively within a team. They will have knowledge and experience in International and Australian sustainability frameworks and guidelines, as well as climate and energy policy and standards, climate risk and opportunity assessment and decarbonisation strategy.
You will bring relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in sustainability reporting, experience with climate-related scenario analysis, including the use, application, and interpretation of tools and models for assessing climate-related physical and transition risks.
