Aboriginal applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.Primary Objective: To assist and support the Northern Territory (NT) Redress Coordination Team in the provision of services to support the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse (the Scheme).Context Statement: The establishment of the Scheme was recommended by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. The Scheme is intended to acknowledge people who experienced child sexual abuse in an institutional setting and to recognize past wrongs.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinate the request for information process for the Scheme's NT Group ensuring research and data collection is conducted in a highly confidential manner and within strict timeframes.Provide best practice training, advice, and support regarding trauma-informed care strategies, focusing on reducing the impact of vicarious trauma.Support eligible survivors to access high-quality counselling and psychological care and direct personal responses.Collect and report on both qualitative and quantitative data relating to the operation of the Scheme within the NT.Support the ongoing operations of the Scheme through developing, reviewing, and maintaining practices and procedures and contributing to policy development as required.Maintain and support collaborative relationships with the Scheme Operator, stakeholder groups, government agencies, and non-government organisations.Provide assistance and support to other staff of the unit, as required.Selection Criteria:Essential:A degree or equivalent qualification in psychology, social work, mental health nursing, law, or an associated field.Demonstrated experience of culturally appropriate practices when working with vulnerable cohorts, including survivors of complex trauma and people from diverse backgrounds.Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, including report writing, the ability to liaise effectively with varied audiences, demonstrate sensitivity and professional discretion, and maintain high levels of confidentiality.Demonstrated experience of trauma-informed care and vicarious trauma, with interpersonal skills required to facilitate effective engagement and sound understanding of principles of delivering training to stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a pressured and sensitive environment.Demonstrated computer literacy skills including experience in various office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and mainframe packages including databases.Desirable:Knowledge of, or experience with the National Redress Scheme.Further Information: The successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal history check.
