As a clerk of works, you'd be conducting regular site inspections and checking that building plans are being followed correctly.This is a site-based role, requiring hands-on participation and a keen willingness to assimilate within a supportive team environment and culture.ExperienceProject Oversight: Adept understanding of plans and specification of large-scale infrastructure projects and the ability to recognise construction details, quality standards, material usage.Pump Station Expertise: Apply your knowledge of wastewater infrastructure and pump stations to manage specific components of the project, ensuring technical specifications and quality standards are met.Stakeholder Communication: Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.Site Coordination: Attend site daily and participate in pre-start meetings before 7:00 am to brief the team and ensure all safety protocols and project objectives are understood.Safety & Compliance: Ensure all on-site activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and promote a culture of safety awareness across the project team.Defect Management: Identifying, monitoring, and resolving defects to minimise rework.Compliance: Ensuring the works comply with statutory regulations and laws through regular safety and structural integrity inspections.Progress Reporting: Providing clients with concise reports on findings, progress, and potential risks.Problem Solving: Act as a point of contact for resolving on-site challenges, making decisions, and escalating issues where necessary.Documentation & Record Keeping: Ensure accurate record-keeping of the project, progress reports, and safety documents.Teamwork: Actively participate as part of the broader project team, demonstrating professionalism, collaboration, and a desire to participate in teamwork.Skills and QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil / mechanical engineering, construction management, or similar will be advantageous.10-15 years of experience working on wastewater infrastructure projects, pump stations, or similar civil projects.
