The role: Provide an efficient and effective emergency reception service, including immediate attention to patients presenting for treatment and admission. Provide initial interview and registration verification of patient identification data. Process all emergency admissions and after-hours direct admissions.
Liaise and assist in the coordination of the day to day functions of the Emergency Department (ED). Provide a clerical support service in relation to all the administrative functions associated with primary patient care.
In the role of Triage Clerk you will: Ensure complete personal and financial profile is captured on each presenting patient. Request existing medical records or raise a new record depending on matches of patient data. Update and maintain the Emergency Department Information System TrakED database and other Health Information Patient Modules, via rapid data entry. Control and direct all incoming telephone calls to the Emergency Department. Answer all patient and/or public enquiries, problem solve, or refer call to the correct departmental personnel. Interview patients for admission and complete all administrative procedures related to emergency admissions and after-hours direct admissions. Ensure discharge details and coding is completed on each patient. Follow up outstanding records not coded with the medical officers. Salary: $71,661 - $77,455 Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
