The Opportunity
The opportunity exists for an experienced Inventory & Purchasing Controller to join the VVMF Supply Chain and Procurement Team. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the purchasing and managing the inventory of the raw materials required for the manufacture of gene therapy vectors for clinical use in humans.
Key Responsibilities:
With the support and guidance from the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, the Inventory & Purchasing Controller will be responsible for the following duties:
Inventory Management and Maintenance Developing and implementing inventory control procedures Forecasting future inventory requirements based on trends and demands Perform inventory reconciliation when discrepancies exist Discrepancy resolution Liaise with all 3PL parties to ensure they are maintaining inventory accuracy at all times Ensure regular cycle counts and stocktakes are being performed Non-inventory and inventory purchases Evaluating vendors, negotiating contract terms and price with suppliers Tracking orders to ensure they are delivered on time as well as reviewing the quality of the purchased products Preparing reports on purchases and conducting cost analysis
You will be working in a start-up environment, flexibility when it comes to duties and responsibilities is needed. You will need to have the ability to problem solve, think on your feet and roll up your sleeves to get things done.
About You Experience Required: Relevant degree in Commerce, Business Administration or relevant field Previous experience in a similar role (around 4-5 years) in both Inventory and Purchasing Experience working with ERP systems Experience with managing and engaging with different vendors Ability to problem solve and present solutions Be adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving start-up environment Demonstrated effective, collaborative and professional communication skills, time management skills and timely delivery of required deliverables Desirable Experience: Experience working in a cGMP environment or working in a medical device setting and experience with ISO13485 APICS or CPIM would be highly regarded Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral and virtual) Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and to facilitate and resolve cross-functional activities and issues A high level of professionalism Positive, "can do" attitude Strong problem-solving skills, which are solutions-focused Innovative, adaptable, and resilient Proven team player who takes own initiative in supporting and achieving team goals/objectives Strong attention to detail and highly organised Personal alignment with VVMF values Maintain a current and satisfactory National Police Check Maintain eligibility to work in Australia
