The Role
Reporting to the site General Manager of Operations, the Engineering & Reliability Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the plant equipment, systems, and processes.
The role will also include, but not be limited to:
Lead a team of technicians and contractors and ensure that they follow the best practices of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Collaborate with other managers and stakeholders to plan and execute projects, budgets, and schedules.
Ensure steady flow of production activities, producing the right product, in the right quality, quantity and at the right time, while maintaining optimal machine utilisation and operational efficiencies.
Initiate, recommend, investigate, trouble-shoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the products, process and quality system.
Monitor and continually manage labour cost day to day to ensure labour usage is optimized.
Support the plan for implementing a site wide ongoing Food Safety Culture plan.
Other ad hoc duties as per directed.
The Person
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in this space as well as strong leadership and managerial skills.
You will also have:
A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, and substantial experience in a food manufacturing environment.
The relevant qualifications relating to the Food Industry including HACCP training/certification.
Leadership and management skills, and the ability to motivate and develop your team.
Strong technical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems and processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Solid understanding of the food safety and quality standards, and the regulatory and compliance requirements.
Comfort in an environment with ambiguity, frequent change & unpredictability.
