Your expertise in identifying and classifying goods will contribute to seamless customs clearance processes and exceptional customer service.
Classify goods based on customs regulations and international harmonized system (HS) codes accurately Review shipment documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and product descriptions, to determine the correct tariff classification Collaborate closely with customers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to obtain accurate product information and resolve classification-related queries Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff schedules to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to customers Identify and address discrepancies or inconsistencies in classification and documentation, proactively communicating and resolving issues as they arise Liaise with the Australian Border Force (ABF) and other government agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Maintain accurate records and documentation related to tariff classifications and customs clearance processes Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including customs brokers, customer service, and sales teams, to ensure smooth and efficient customs clearance operations Stay updated on industry trends and changes in customs regulations to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency Post Code:  2036 | Matraville OR 3045 | Melbourne Airport OR 4209 | Coomera What you'll bring to the team Previous experience in customs classification, preferably within the logistics or freight forwarding industry Strong understanding of Australian customs regulations and international HS codes Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to accurately classify goods and review documentation Proficiency in using customs classification software and online tools Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
