The branch manages agency technology infrastructure as well as business and corporate applications.
Digital Services Branch leads new development of business-lead value and capability through a user-centred design approach.
About the Section The Agile Delivery Section is responsible for the design, development and delivery of digital solutions for the Clean Energy Regulator.
The section facilitates the operation of an Agile Release Train (ART) using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Aligned with international best practice standards, the ART works to delivery high quality, timely solutions to meet user needs.
The Agile Delivery Section: Manages scrum teams who produce digital solutions.
Sets the agile framework and ways of working for scrum teams.
Defines the set of processes and practices to help ensure software meets appropriate quality standards.
Ensures alignment against digital standards and processes.
Communicates with the agency on successes, learnings and potential for innovation in digital delivery.
Role Responsibilities and Duties As a Senior Test Analyst, you will work in an agile scrum team and be responsible for optimising testing efforts to ensure quality assurance and excellence.
Using the Scaled Agile Framework, you will: Build and perform test cases using formal test design techniques, and report evidence of testing into Azure Dev Ops.
Collaborate with the scrum teams and stakeholders to clarify user stories & acceptance criteria, provide estimates for testing activities and design risk-based tests accordingly.
Coordinate cross-team testing activities and testing of regular software releases, communicating test progress, issues and risks to the team and stakeholders.
Plan and coordinate quality Exploratory Testing to mitigate risks of threats to software integrity.
Identify scenarios suitable for test automation and create automated tests for them using Playwright.
Prepare quality documentation of identified software problems and collaborate with the scrum team to achieve resolution through replication and testing.
Provide specialist expertise and technical knowledge with testing activities, including functional, integration, performance, automation, user acceptance and post-implementation (production verification) testing.
Consider and effectively manage Branch/Division operations and strategic directions when achieving team planning and project outcomes.
Lead and develop people capability in a team environment through coaching, providing performance feedback and encouraging career development for less experienced testers.
Qualifications/Experience The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proficiency in testing within an enterprise environment.
Familiarity with Agile delivery and methodologies.
Competence with Azure Dev Ops and Dynamics CRM.
Capability in implementing process and technology improvements.
Skill in performing Exploratory Testing in a credible and structured manner.
Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
Ability to mentor, coach, or manage staff.
The following experience and qualities are highly desirable, but not essential: Expertise in creating valuable automated tests using existing automation tools (Playwright is ideal) and frameworks.
