Catholic Schools Broken Bay (CSBB) provides an inclusive approach for students with disability and diverse learning needs.
This specific teaching role is made available as we broaden our learning offerings and inclusive model of education by providing class options for children with disability with a focus on strengths, to promote engagement, enable learning growth and ensure flourishing.
The new and upcoming Eileen O'Connor Catholic School (EOCS) at Tuggerah will provide quality education for students with a disability from kindergarten to Year 12 through a structure of a Base School and network of Support Classes in local parish schools facilitating the transition between base school and support classes and local parish school enrolment.

This is a permanent full-time role to start in Term 1 of 2025 school year.
The Eileen O'Connor Support Class positions available are as follows: 1 position at St Martin's Catholic Primary School, Davidson 1 position at Prouille Catholic Primary School, Wahroonga 1 position at St John the Apostle Catholic Primary School, Narraweena Teachers of support classes for students with disability are entitled to an additional allowance in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement.

Specific Criteria Supportive of the Catholic Ethos of the Diocese of Broken Bay Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner Current knowledge of The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Disability Standards for Education Current knowledge of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), its processes and obligation to schools Develop, implement, assess, and monitor the individual plans for each student in the support class, including behaviour and personal care support plans.
Collaborate with CSBB teachers, Learning Partners and external health and wellbeing service providers to ensure students are engaged in learning with successful outcomes Facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive behaviour for learning Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Successful experience in building the capacity of teachers to support children with disability Committed to supporting student wellbeing.
Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4-year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four-year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.
Qualifications and Accreditations Practising Catholic and/or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context? Relevant tertiary qualifications or working towards an initial teacher education program in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement NESA accredited as Proficient or working towards Proficient accreditation Accredited to be a teacher of Religious Education or in the process of completing RE accreditation (applicable for Primary teachers) Valid Working with Children Check? New position on COVID-19 vaccinations Given the current management of risks associated with COVID-19 in the community, and the gradual wind-back of some settings, CSBB has decided to no longer require all staff to be fully vaccinated, effective 19 September 2022.
Staff who are not vaccinated will be required to wear masks when working with children at greater risk of serious illness owing to a medical condition and/or physical disability.
