Location ProfileTime fraction 1.0 - fulltime - the role is advertised as FT however, there is flexibility of this role being part-time with negotiated days to the selected applicant. Cranbourne East Secondary College (CESC) is located in the Hunt Club Estate, adjacent to Cranbourne East Primary School and Marnebek School. Established in 2011, the College is approximately 55 kilometres south-east from Melbourne CBD and is experiencing rapid enrolment growth, with a year 7-12 enrolment exceeding 2150 students in 2024.
The Cranbourne East community is multicultural, with a significant number of students born overseas and from language backgrounds other than English. Students from refugee backgrounds make up approximately 9.7% of the cohort, and 1% of students are indigenous.
The College currently has 173 full-time staff, including a Principal, Assistant Principals, Learning Specialists, and Education Support staff.
CESC is known for its high expectations in all aspects of college life, promoting a strong sense of community through house culture, student voice, attendance, and wellbeing.

Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated high level of knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
SC2 Demonstrated high level of ability to plan for and implement high impact teaching strategies and evaluate their impact on student learning growth.
SC3 Demonstrated high level of ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to inform teaching practice.
SC4 Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish collaborative relationships to support student learning.

RoleRange 2 classroom teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes as determined by the school strategic plan.
Range 2 classroom teachers will be expected to:
Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students.Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers.Provide expert advice about content and strategies for professional learning.Supervise and train one or more student teachers.Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches.ResponsibilitiesThe role may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups and individual students.Contributing to curriculum development and evaluation.Participating in parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings.Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum areas.
