Location ProfileMernda Central P-12 School operates under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Project. The college is located on 70 Breadalbane Avenue, Mernda in the City of Whittlesea. Programs cater for students in Prep to Year 12.

RoleThe classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparation, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
Range 2 classroom teachers are expected to:
Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students.Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor other teachers.Provide expert advice about content, processes, and strategies for professional learning.Supervise and train student teachers.Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches.Range 1 classroom teachers focus on developing skills with structured support and guidance, teaching a range of students/classes, and participating in policy development and project teams.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups and individual students.Contributing to curriculum development and evaluation.Undertaking other classroom teaching-related duties as determined by the School Principal.Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions.Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum areas.
