As our Claims Officer, you'll join an organisation that is driving positive change for the communities we serve.

This role reports to Julian Hill, within the Service Response division. The role is responsible for end-to-end management of customer claims and recoveries relating to faults and damages to water and sewer infrastructure.

Your key responsibilities
Assessment, investigation, and settlement of claims for uninsured and insured damage from customers, which are managed in-house and by Yarra Valley Water Loss Adjusters and/or Lawyers.
Support resolution of complex claims in conjunction with the Senior Claims Manager and Lawyers, to ensure effective management of risk and liability.
As directed by Yarra Valley Water's Risk Manager and in line with Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation; undertake thorough, compliant, and complete review and processing of Freedom of Information requests.
What we're looking for
Well-developed customer service and communication skills, able to build empathy with customers to understand their concerns and to identify pathways for resolution.
Comfortable working with ambiguity and navigating customer conflict.
Ability to think strategically and analytically within a fast-paced environment.
Strong background in claims assessment and resolution.
