Claims Officer - Federal GovernmentWe are seeking a number of experienced Claims Officers for Perth to join our client who is a Federal Government Agency. The position would perfectly suit someone who has insurance/claims/payments processing experience, who is wanting to further their career within the public sector.This position is within the incapacity team. This position can be repetitive and mathematical as you are required to do adjustments with payments, more often with the same clients on an ongoing basis. Experience with Excel and being comfortable with numbers is mandatory as the position can be analytical with problem solving required.This is an APS4 equivalent level position initially on a labour hire basis. The role will involve managing a caseload of claims at various stages and facilitating payment of compensation benefits to eligible clients. You will be required to exercise your judgement to make determinations based on gathered evidence and the application of relevant legislation.Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:End to end management of claims including investigating and following up with clients to provide evidence for their claimProviding a direct service to clients, including other government departments and agenciesProviding accurate information on the range of benefits and services provided by the client either by telephone or in-personReading and applying legislationResponding to phone calls and emails regarding claimsEnsuring the system is up to date and information is accurateAbout YouEffective communication and the ability to build positive working relationships with relevant stakeholders will be critical to your success in this role. You will have experience working with vulnerable clients, analytical skills, Excel skills, and problem solving skills and be able to work in a busy environment.In addition, you will demonstrate the following:Previous experience in claims/case/payment managementThe proven ability to understand complex information and work under legislative frameworksExcel and mathematical skills, analytical and problem solving skillsThe ability to pick up information quickly and accept on-the-job feedbackThe ability to read and interpret medical records including details of mental health stressors, accidents, and injuries.Excellent computer skills / the ability to learn new systemsRespond to queries in an efficient and professional mannerDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to be resilient and handle complex and sensitive enquiriesThe rewards:An attractive hourly rate of $44 per hour + super12 month position initiallyMonday to Friday – full time hours (37.5 hours per week)Flexibility to work from home 1 to 2 days per week after training periodOngoing training and professional developmentWorking with a community of Veterans, very fulfilling purposeful position.Please note:Successful candidates must be Australian Citizens (non-negotiable, need to be at time of hitting apply to this advert) and be willing to undertake a National Police Clearance.If you're looking for your next opportunity, please send your CV by clicking the APPLY NOW button.
