Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Casualty Claims professional. The role reports to the Claims Manager, Casualty and is based in our Sydney office.
Duties & Responsibilities: Managing third party Public and Products Liability injury and property damage claims across the Casualty business. Providing high level customer service and claims management with a proactive approach to achieving strong results for our customers. Investigating and managing claims which includes close cooperation with the insured and broker, determination of coverage, liability exposure, reserve adequacy and identification of risk management opportunities whilst working towards timely claims resolution. Supplementing in-house claims handling with appropriate engagement of loss adjusters and legal providers. Collaboration with the broader claims team and Casualty underwriters. Occasional travel to client/broker meetings, mediations, conferences, and other industry events. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: At least 2 years' claims experience handling Casualty claims or in legal practice. A high level of professionalism and personal responsibility. Relevant tertiary qualifications. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
