This is a unique opportunity to be part of the largest reconstruction project in local government history, a role that will take your career to new heights.You can showcase your technical knowledge in reviewing and managing contractual claims and make assessments and recommendations regarding government funding arrangements. These arrangements require technical review, policy interpretation, and a sound understanding of contractual terms.What we can offer youNew projects ready to go valued at $1 billion+ in funding.Landmark Lismore projects – Excellent team to work with.What we trust you to deliverWork closely with the Contracts Manager to review and revise processes and claims.Responsible for dissecting complex claim information, verifying the validity of claims through thorough investigations, and collaborating with internal and external upstream and downstream stakeholders to achieve accurate and fair settlements.Liaise with Contractors to ensure compliant claims including investigating and following up to provide evidence/documentation for the claim.Foster solid and trust-based relationships with all parties and stakeholders, creating a network of collaboration and understanding.Review, assess, and follow up on documents, ensuring that every decision aligns with legal standards and Council values.Facilitate and contribute to positive contractor relations, including resolving disputes arising from claims and working towards fair settlements.What you'll need to be successfulThe proven ability to understand complex information and work under government legislative frameworks.Excel and mathematical skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.The ability to pick up information quickly and accept on-the-job feedback.The ability to read and interpret contracts in an infrastructure environment.Excellent computer skills / the ability to learn new systems.Respond to queries efficiently and professionally.Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to be resilient and handle complex and sensitive inquiries.Experienced with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Please review the position description and use your resume and application responses in the application form below to demonstrate your ability to fulfill the position's responsibilities.Attractive remuneration for the right candidate.This position is a full-time (70 Hrs per fortnight), term-based appointment until 31 December 2026.Health & Wellbeing and Employee Assistance Program.The position will be primarily at our Flood Portfolio Office in Lismore.
