Job Description Civilmart are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the production planning and scheduling activities across the Cairns Production facility. The successful candidate will be someone with a high level of technical proficiency and production planning skills in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities will include: Work with the sales manager and sales team to understand the sales forecast and the assumptions behind the demand plan. Challenge planning assumptions where needed. Maintain a rolling inventory and supply plans. Consult with the manufacturing manager regarding planned production rates, work centre work hours and production capacities/constraints Ensure inventory/production forecasts are implementable with robust plans Inventory Management
Engage Sales team to confirm site market offer in terms of stockable product range versus make to order For stockable items, maintain the planning parameters (eg, safety stocks, target stocks, lead times, mould allocations) required to meet stock availability service targets and inventory targets Ensure requests for new item codes are processed promptly, accurately and completely (preferred ability to be able to read and interpret engineered product drawings) Before scheduling new production, identify alternate product offerings in stock that may suit customer requirements, thereby reducing slow and obsolete stock levels Production Scheduling
Plan work centre schedules, working closely with production coordinators, to ensure customer requirements are met with efficient production schedules. Check production to plan to ensure production plans are produce with valid assumptions, that production teams are held accountable for production and that customers can be advised of any potential/actual late deliveries. Highlight spare capacities in the schedule to sales team to encourage greater sales and production centre managers to plan for adjustments in work loading Role Requirements: Previous experience in a planning or scheduling role within a production/ manufacturing environment is preferred Specific knowledge or experience of civil precast concrete products is highly desirable Must have excellent computer skills – intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in Excel is a must Ability to successfully influence production personnel towards the attainment of forecasted objectives Strong analytical skills and attention to detail #J-18808-Ljbffr
