About the projectThe Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road is a regional road linking the Capricorn Coast, including tourist locations, such as Great Keppel Island to Rockhampton and beyond. The Queensland Government is upgrading the road to increase safety, improve efficiency, and increase route capacity to accommodate future growth in traffic volumes from increased economic activity in the region.
The scope of work includes upgrading to 4 lanes (with divided carriageways) between Iron Pot and Hedlow Creek, the Artillery Road/Dairy Inn Road intersection re-design, alterations and upgrades to the Iron Pot Road intersection, and upgrades to drainage structures.
About the roleReporting to the Superintendent, you will play an active, hands-on leadership role on-site, assisting in the coordination of all resources to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Your key duties will include: Overseeing the day-to-day operations, including site management and administration, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow;Mentoring and guiding your team to achieve their full potential and help them grow in their careers;Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality controls;Collaborating with the project management team to develop a weekly work program, monitoring project costs, and identifying opportunities for improvement;Overseeing subcontractors, suppliers, and inspection and testing processes to ensure all work meets the required standards;Providing daily updates and records of project progress, including photo logs and cost reports, and notifying the project management team of any potential variations;Ensuring all training requirements are met to maintain a skilled and knowledgeable workforce;Conducting regular inspections with clients to ensure workflow, quality control, and testing conform to project requirements.About youWe are looking for a seasoned Supervisor with significant on-site TMR civil construction experience, underpinned by solid technical expertise.
To join the team, you will need the following:
Highly developed communication, negotiating, and analytical skills with the ability to effectively communicate with officials from government, the community, customers, and management groups;The ability to provide leadership in a construction site environment while building relationships with the client and the workforce;A sound knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety issues and responsibilities including the ability to comply with the relevant Act and Regulations;Demonstrated ability to understand project drawings, standard drawings, and work to the relevant standards and codes applicable to the works;Knowledgeable in the field of Human Resources and Industrial Relations;A Certificate III in Civil Construction and/or Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalent experience.Interested?Great, let's talk.
