GEBIE Civil and Construction (GCC) is the commercial subsidiary of Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation (GEBIE).
GCC undertakes Civil and Construction projects across the Groote Archipelago and has a commercial workshop for vehicles, plant, and equipment.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Civil Supervisor to join the GCC team and work in the community to deliver a wide range of projects.
Reporting to the Civil Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of current and future projects including subdivisions, stormwater, sewer, drainage, road construction and re-rehabilitation, bulk earthworks, landscaping, and environmental remediation works.
Duties and responsibilities will include: Assist the Civil Manager and Project Manager in developing and implementing the construction program to ensure tasks are delivered accordinglyAssist with sourcing necessary resources including plant, materials, subcontractors for the delivery of programmed worksControl and maintain daily project planning and scheduling of works to suit project programming and contractual requirementsSupervise and manage day-to-day operations including subcontractors, labourers, materials and plant operationsEnsure compliance with project specific management plansReview and interpret permits, plans and technical drawingsProvide input into variations, quotes, and future worksMaintain detailed and accurate site reportsWilling to conduct operator duties if requiredMaintain professional relationships with stakeholdersIdentify and document all relevant risks and hazards and follow appropriate risk management and safety proceduresAssist in the development and training of staff, particularly providing opportunities for Indigenous staffSkills and Experience required: 5+ years' experience working as a Civil Supervisor in AustraliaS1, S2, S3 and Cert IV Civil (desirable)Operating experience on Dozer, Excavator, Grader, Front End Loader and Skid SteerAttention to detail, excellent time management and organisational skillsExcellent leadership and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills, both written and verbalAble to pass a full pre-employment medicalThis is a FIFO role, on a 18/10 roster.
