Hot Weld Fabrication is seeking a Structural Steel Detailer to work in their busy steel fabrication office in Bunbury, South West of Perth WA.

The role will include: Interpretation of plans, regulations and codes of practice required for projects.
Provide detailing of shop drawings for commercial, mining and residential projects and others as directed reporting to the Project Manager within a busy steel fabrication business Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures Preparing and detailing of shop drawings from Architectural and Engineering drawings and specifications, preliminary sketches, and working drawings.
Preparing, revising and editing shop detail drawings, plans, maps and charts as required Studying Architectural and Engineering drawings and specifications to estimate costs and preparing detailed cost plans and estimating time scales to assist Performing routine calculations and plotting preliminary data Assist in planning, organising and directing how to deliver site labour, construction materials, and plant and equipment services for each project in consultation with the Managing Director, Project Manager, Site Supervisor, Architect and Surveyors as required Inspection of work and materials to determine compliance with relevant standards, regulations and specifications.
Establishing detailed work programs for the coordination of site activities Collection of data by use of surveying instruments and photogrammetric equipment You will be required to: Deliver on behalf of the company excellent customer service and communication to both existing and new customers Solve problems and make decisions as required Have a solid understanding of construction and building codes Have a strong understanding of structural engineering principles Effectively meet project deadlines Position available is full time, working 5 days a week.
Must be able to undergo pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.
Training and supervision will be provided.
Experience in the position is required with a Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a related field, certification or experience using CAD software, and experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology.
Base Annual Salary is $70,000 to $75,000
