For more information, visit itac.us.com. ResponsibilitiesThis position requires the candidate to be highly knowledgeable in heavy industrial structural design and construction.
Provide technical design leadershipExercise a level of independent judgment with little to no direction from management.Conceptual design and final engineeringThe ability to resolve technical design conflicts.Manage the structural design effort for multiple projects.Develop engineering drawings and documents with little to no direction from management.Generate technical solutions to problems of unusual complexity.Perform design calculations.Use computer-aided design equipment.Participate in project meetings and act as structural team leadWorking in, and sometimes leading, teams on large multi-discipline projectsThrive in a fast-paced, schedule-driven atmosphereMake and meet commitmentsPerform field work and observe construction (climbing stairs and ladders, extensive walking)Monitor budgets and schedulesMentor junior engineersLight travel – mostly within the Kentucky/Tennessee/Illinois/Missouri regionDevelop proposals (gathers information, makes studies, performs calculations, etc.
).Generate material take-offs and construction estimatingRequirementsBachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited Civil or Structural Engineering programPossess or be on track to obtain a Kentucky Professional Engineer license within 6 months4-7 years relevant experience in a high-seismic area is requiredExcellent people and communication skills (oral and written)Team player and ability to work on multiple projectsStrong computer skills (i.e.
Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
).Ability to work well with other engineers/designers.Ability to work on job sites gathering information.
Occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery.Extensive knowledge of steel & concrete structures, foundation design, timber design, masonry design, architectural codes, site design, and permittingProficient with structural design software, such as Autodesk Revit, Risa 3D, Profis, Mathcad, AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, SAP2000, or STAAD.ProBenefitsFrom internships to seasoned professionals, our growing company provides career opportunities for all levels of experience.
