About the Opportunity: We are building a $500 million glass manufacturing and remanufacturing facility in Yatala just south of Brisbane. The factory represents the largest investment we have ever made. We recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland's glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. We are building next to our box factory and beverage can plants, creating a beverage container precinct to further support customers and provide new career pathways for our staff. The project is expected to be operational in 2025.
What you will do: You will work closely with our Design, Project Management and Civil Construction teams to deliver the Structural and Building aspects of this project. Your responsibilities include:
Facilitating engineering and coordination for the design, supply and installation of civil and structural works associated with the cullet plant, batch house, production building, warehouse, and site infrastructure. Developing the scope of works and cost estimates for key civil and structure infrastructure. Working with key stakeholders to facilitate, review and manage the design process. Partnering closely with our procurement and commercial teams, to develop procurement packages, select contractors and award the work. Overseeing the execution of work packages according to plans, design, and quality specifications. Overseeing the practical completion documentation and close out handover processes with the relevant operations teams. Your Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Civil or Structural Engineering Degree with five years' experience in a project or site-based engineering role. Broad based experience in civil or structural engineering, design, installation, and construction. An ability to work well with contractors and with other field-based resources across the project team. Excellent communication skills Ability to build relationships, facilitate and influence, with good interpersonal skills. Concise and effective reporting and presentation skills. A bias for action, having the energy and drive to progress tasks to completion. Ability to plan, act and implement.
