We are regularly tendering for works in the Brisbane and Greater QLD region and are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Civil Project Engineers (Maintenance & Works) interested in joining us and capable of committing to the following assignments for an initial 1 - 2 year duration with the possibility of extensions and other projects.
Mandatory Experience A minimum 10 years' roadworks (Maintenance and Works) experience, demonstrated experience in undertaking resurfacing, earthworks, pavements, and drainage works. Exposure to Contract Administration activities utilising TMR Contract Admin Systems (CAS) would be a big advantage.
Expected duties: Assist in the assessment of tenders received (tender evaluation and recommendation). Assist in the assessment of Construction Quality, Safety, Environmental and Traffic management plans. Undertake/Assist Delivery team with surveillance activities on Construction Contract works, including: Assess and undertake CAS Manual audits and provisions. Surveillance, Certification and Verification of the Contract Delivery. Reporting on project progress, issues and performance. Compilation of finalisation documentation. Assist in the compilation of As Constructed detail. Report & document Lessons learned & opportunities for improvement into the future. Assist with the development of future planning for program of works. Direct, monitor and guide less experienced staff in their duties in each section. Engineers may be asked to administer contracts as an Administrator's Representative. Other activities as deemed necessary relating to the project as directed by the relevant Principal Engineer. It is expected that the proposed Experienced Engineer resource has the following competencies: Have experience delivering Open Tender/RMPC/Minor works contracts and is familiar with TMR specifications. Have a sound knowledge of Roadworks, Traffic Management, Resurfacing works, Drainage works, Pavement, Earthworks and Environmental understanding in relation to construction and maintenance. Mandatory Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification, which is accepted by the Institution of Engineers Australia as a full Member (MIEAust); Having an RPEQ accreditation is a huge advantage. Must have a driver's licence and have access to own mobile phone. Preference is given to someone living in the Queensland region or willing to relocate there; however, we will consider alternatives. The proposed hours are nominally 40 per week , although no guarantee there won't be more or less hours due to project demands. Travel to site on an ad/hoc basis is expected, with some Saturday and Sunday work may be required but this would be minimal.
