The OpportunityMelton City Council is seeking a Civil Investigations Team Leader to join the Engineering and Asset Services team and lead the Civil Investigations team.
Reporting to the Design & Investigation Coordinator, you will lead a team of passionate Engineers and Technical Officers to deliver outstanding customer service and meaningful outcomes for the community.
You will be primarily responsible for overseeing engineering permits and a variety of Civil Investigations and minor capital projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the processing and administering of Council's Consent to work in the road reserve, Build over Easement and Legal point of discharge applications.Manage the Drainage Engineer to thoroughly investigate customer requests such as drainage and stormwater flooding issues in a timely manner and develop and implement solutions in accordance with industry best practice, Council policy and budgetary requirements to ensure Council is pro-active and responsive to community needs and expectations.Lead street lighting investigations and replacement of nonstandard street lighting.Civil engineering projects to ensure approvals, consultation and liaisons with authorities are completed to enable successful delivery of projects.Check engineering designs provided by the Drainage and Student Engineers, ensuring compliance with Council policy, engineering standards and codes of practice.To view the Position Description, click here.
About YouTo be successful in this role you will have the following:
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering and a Professional Registered Engineer – Victoria with several years of subsequent relevant experience, alternatively lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.Demonstrated experience in Engineering applications such as Build Over Easement and Consent to work in the Road Reserve.Construction induction card Victoria (white card).Demonstrated experience in conducting engineering investigations such as flooding issues, developing solutions, producing drawings and constructed outcomes.BenefitsThere are a number of great reasons why our people love working at Melton City Council:
