About the Role
The Civil Asset Management Branch provides high-level maintenance, construction, and asset management services for all road and related infrastructure assets (pavements, bridges, drainage, pathways, and street furniture). As a Civil Field Worker, you will carry out a hands-on role in delivering and maintaining efficient and effective day-to-day operation of civil maintenance and construction tasks.
About You
You will assist the Field Leader in supervision of tasks and the provision of on-the-job coaching as required. You will ensure that all daily documentation is completed on time (e.g., Timesheets, Logbooks, Incident Reports) and report operational and safety matters to the relevant officer.
You will comply with the requirements of work procedures and practices issued by the Council for workplace health and safety and environmental protection. You will eliminate or report hazardous conditions and work practices that come to your attention and report promptly any incident that involves work-related injury or illness, a near miss, or damage to property or the environment.
You will operate and maintain Council's machinery & equipment as per the manufacturer's recommendations, properly use and maintain personal protective equipment, and seek replacement when necessary.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess a 30215 Qld – General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) – Blue Card and a current "C" class driver's licence. You will have demonstrated experience and ability to operate and undertake general maintenance of trucks, relevant civil construction, and machinery.
Demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills are necessary to follow direction and work programs to complete tasks within set timeframes. You must be able to work as an effective team member of a high-performing team with the ability to work under limited supervision.
Physical agility and the level of fitness, strength, and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending are essential. Appointment to this position is subject to the completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
