We are seeking a Full Time Civil Engineering Technician to deal with the technical elements of projects, managing the budget, working with suppliers, and creating delivery schedules for materials and machinery. They also act as a liaison between construction and engineering employees, ensuring all workers on the job are aware of the needs, constraints, and deadlines of the project.Duties include:Assist with data management such as quantities and volumesEstimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisionsInspect civil works and organise and supervise maintenance and repair workCollecting and analysing data, and carrying out computationsConducting field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and collecting data for traffic surveysTesting and evaluating construction materialsOutlining work programs and reviewing these for accuracy, adequacy, and feasibilitySetting up technical instruments used to collect data (geotechnical)Skills & ExperienceDiploma or higher qualification in a field highly relevant to Civil Engineering, Engineering Drafting - Civil Design or related engineering field.2+ years of construction and design related experience preferably within the hiring firm's fieldProven experience in an engineering environment.Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Clean police recordGeneral Construction Induction (White Card)In-depth understanding of OH&S regulationsStrong communication skillsAbility to work autonomouslyAbout GDP GroupWe are a national company employing 120+ staff in Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane, and have been operating for 24 years.
