About the Opportunity
New opportunity to be a part of the Reve Design as a civil engineering draftsperson. You will be involved in the creation of technical drawings and documents for us.
Key Duties:
Perform broad, varied and diverse engineering design tasks on assigned projects under general supervision of the lead or manager, including engineering drawings and providing CAD input to engineering reports and presentations undertaken by engineers.
Engage in the development of design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including site plans, utility plan/profiles, grading plans, cross sections, diagrams, submittal reviews and response to information requests as required.
Assist senior engineers/designers in providing CAD input to assist with developing and managing the project scope including cost estimates, budget, staffing, and schedule.
Assist with inspection of construction sites from time to time with supervision from senior civil engineers. Check existing structures for upgrades and create drawings and schematics of projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Assist the senior project civil engineer in preparing the conceptual, preliminary and final design and contribute toward client project meetings.
Provide CAD input to engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact, and communication pertaining to specific projects.
Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments and serve as a liaison between senior engineer and design team.
Confirm adherence to construction specifications during each phase of a project.
Interact with design and construction resources during the design development and subsequent stages.
Ensure any changes in scope, design or methodology are communicated to construction team to ensure changes are incorporated in drawings.
Collect and collate project specific design information for potential future usage if required.
Assist with the collation of all completion documents including certificates, design compliance, as-builts and permits.
Maintain and use an up-to-date knowledge of pertinent current codes and technical requirements.
Minimum Requirements for this Role:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar drafting role.
A good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
12D knowledge will be beneficial but not essential.
Experience in drafting drainage, earthworks, roads, sewer & water systems.
Excellent communication skills.
