Civil Engineering Draftsperson

Job tasks and responsibilities The role encompasses major project work &/or daily locating jobs. Utility locating is the core responsibility of the role. Other major tasks include creating sketches, charts, tabulations, plans, and designs for civil engineering projects such as highways, airports, dams, bridges, water supply, and sewerage reticulation systems. Training will also be provided for the candidate for any shortcomings with skills that require honing. Mon-Fri, Nights & Weekends only on occasions & away work from time to time with additional allowances.
Skills and experience The successful candidate will need to show proof of experience and be DBYD Certified, hold a relevant Diploma qualification or equivalent with at least 3 years relevant experience in a dedicated utility locating role. You will also have an understanding of survey and an ability to read survey drawings, DBYD, and Autocad (preferable), your professionalism and confidence in your ability will be on display whilst you deal with Tier 1-3 clients along with government clients. Experience in concrete scanning will be a major advantage for applicants but not necessary.
