In this role you'll provide valuable technical insight into traffic engineering and road safety under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
You will be involved in road network design, construction, and maintenance efforts aimed at reducing congestion and enhancing road safety.
The team you will be joining plays a key role in providing traffic and road safety expertise within the south coast region, through the development of Road Safety Mass Action Plans, Safer Roads Sooner proposals, speed limit reviews, traffic safety investigations and responding to public enquires regarding road safety.
Key Responsibilities: Investigate and analyze traffic and road safety issues on the state-controlled network.
Contribute to the Road Safety Minor Works program to implement cost-effective road safety solutions.
Support Road Safety Mass Action Plans, Safer Roads Sooner, and Black Spot Program projects.
Provide specialized technical advice on traffic engineering, including signage, line marking, and safety programs.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, preparing technical reports and addressing public and Ministerial inquiries.
Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, policies, and legislative requirements for road infrastructure projects.
Mandatory Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (recognized by Engineers Australia).
Minimum of 3 years' experience in traffic engineering, transport planning, or road safety.
A current "C" class driver's license.
Ability to pass Criminal History Screening.
