About the Role: As a Civil Engineer based in Darwin, your role will be pivotal in supporting the Estimator and Project Manager throughout various project phases, including tendering, planning, delivery, and finalisation. Your responsibilities will include project coordination, contract review, pricing variations, quality assurance, and safety/environmental management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in estimating projects under the guidance of the Estimator and Project Manager. Collaborate with the project team from tendering to finalisation, including survey control and documentation. Review project and contractual documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with tender specifications. Price variations accurately and promptly as directed by the Project Manager. Prepare Construction Time Pathways (CTP's) in collaboration with the Construction Supervisor. Manage requests for Information (RFI's) and ensure timely responses and documentation. Coordinate subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality workmanship. Maintain project QA documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's). Monitor quality and environmental issues, taking appropriate action as directed. Ensure proper control and distribution of all drawings and documents per quality standards. Record and document all site-related documentation accurately. Identify potential cost savings and efficiency gains, providing recommendations. Assist in project risk assessment to identify constructability issues. Safety & Environment Responsibilities:
Comply with all safety and environmental regulations and company policies. Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and develop safe work method statements. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools for tasks. Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings as required. Report all safety and environmental incidents immediately. Follow emergency procedures and instructions in case of emergencies. Qualifications and Experience:
General safety induction card. Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline. Sound understanding of modern construction techniques and project methodologies. Strong communication skills (written and oral). Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Project. Demonstrated knowledge of project coordination and contract management.
